Fear paralyses a people, even to do what is peaceful, because it is not their own action they fear, but what they think the enemy will do!
Once the fear has been implanted, the enemy need do nothing, because the fearful people themselves will keep conjuring the enemy’s gun pointed to their heads at the thought of trying any action, however harmless!
Wherever Non-Violence as a philosophy has been used, it has been based on the courage to confront violence and the gun with civil disobedience, civil protests, civil unrest, and mass mobilisation, but never on the running away from this confrontation.
The greatest weapon to a People in any confrontation is courage and a fighting spirit; The SDF could only assert itself through tremendous acts of courage and self-assertion. Even to get a mere GCE Board that costs nothing to la Republique du Cameroun, Southern Cameroonians in Yaoundé had to face tear gas and water Canons. How then can we get back Southern Cameroons by disarming our people with philosophies of fear and the fancies that liberation can be won with words alone?
